Living Room Color Trends for Fall

fall color trends

Considering a decorating change as cooler weather comes our way? There are some interesting color ideas in the design world right now that are perfect for the living room — whether you want to go formal, contemporary or cozy. Consider some of these suggestions that combine a cheery spring/summer color with a rich autumnal shade to give you a look that will be perfect year round:

  • lettuce green, peach and burgundy
  • golden-yellow, bright blue and grey
  • orchid purple, golden-yellow with black and white
  • coral, burgundy and white, with metallic gold accents
  • lipstick red, light blue and cream, with brass accents
  • deep brown, bright orange and warm yellow

The various “colors of the year” selected by professional color experts are also great for inspiration. For example, Benjamin Moore have named “Guilford Green” it’s official color of 2015. As Benjamin Moore’s Creative Director describes it: “A neutral that’s natural. A silvery green that works with, well, everything. No worries. No second thoughts. Just a brush, dipped in a can, whooshed on a wall, and a whole lot of happily ever after.”

The Pantone Color Institute chose “Marsala” as it’s pick for the defining color of 2015. They describe it as “a naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls.”
